how do I get the export from ChatGPT?

    open ChatGPT settings → data controlsin the desktop app or chatgpt.com, click your profile → settings → data controls.

    hit export, then confirmpress export under "export data", then confirm. OpenAI emails the file. it can take a few minutes, sometimes up to 24 hours.

    download the zip from your emailopen the email from noreply@tm.openai.com and click download. the link expires after 24 hours.

    drop the zip belowwe unzip and read it in your browser. nothing is uploaded until you save on the next screen.
